Raul Cuero’s Interview about Creativity

In Raul Cuero’s interview, I definitely agreed with him on several points. I believe, like he does, that it is essential to go against the expectations that people have about you. It is only up to you to decide how you want other people to perceive you. Working with intensity, without being afraid of failing or being perceived as something you aren’t, is crucial when pursuing creative endeavors.

I somewhat disagree with another point he had, where said that creativity has to do with your place in nature, and how you can both impact and be impacted by it. He says that be staying inside and using electronics, we are not being creative. I believe that creativity can come from anywhere: through video games, through art programs, etc. You could be drawing or creating on your computer or on a tablet, or you could be developing an invention digitally through numerous art programs. It is true that ideas can emerge through interactions with other people, but that is not the only way. Ideas can form anytime, anywhere. I feel that, when Cuero says that kids are only doing/discussing superficial things, he is unfairly limiting the growth of creativity and knowledge through means that he simply doesn’t understand.
